Entered the Tokyo College of Music in 1987, and joined the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra in 1989 while in college. Won 3rd prize in the the 5th Flute Convention Contest, solo division in 1991. Currently, as a principal flutist at the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, plays in chamber music, solo works and recordings. Studied under Yasuo Yamamoto, Tsuyoshi Koizumi, Gao Saito, Paul Maisen. Is a member of a flute Quartet,"The 4 flutes".
