Carmen Maret is a performer, composer, teacher and concert organizer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ms. Maret is co-founder of Folias, a nationally touring flute and guitar duo that she performs and composes with alongside her husband guitarist Andrew Bergeron. In 2008, she released her third CD with Folias as a Blue Griffin Recording Artist.
Ms. Maret's primary academic training took place at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music where she graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Flute Performance, and Michigan State University School of Music where she received a Master of Music in Flute Performance and a second Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology with a focus on Argentine tango music and dance.
